When I’m glancing through the pages of Amazon or browsing through the bookstore with my coffee in hand, I am typically looking for something that “jumps out” at me. This book did not, yet, I became strangely drawn to it.
I can only conclude that I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to buy this book because for what it’s worth the name and the cover did not persuade me. I can’t knit a lick. You would only need to ask my Nanny Ruthie about this and she will confirm that my coordination is somewhat lacking in this department. And well, the title of this book is “Knit Together”.
I immediately knew it would be a metaphor that I might not understand but I picked it up anyway. I opened it up, flipped through the pages and stopped on this scripture:
“For you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
~Psalm 139: 13-14~
“Hmmm”, I thought, “now there is something that I would love to learn more about.”
I brought this book home and tossed it into my pile and continued reading the other 6 (yes, it says 6 no need to grab your glasses!) books that I had already begun. Then one day I got curious and so I sat down and perused the first few pages with only the intention to browse. Huh! I read 5 chapters before I could put it down.
This book spoke volumes to me about God’s purpose and plans for my life and the dreams that I have surpressed for one reason or another. Every page delivered a profound message and with every completed chapter I felt like I had just had an encounter with God. He spoke to me through this book. He used Debbie Macomber as a vessel to give this little ole’ southern gal a good swift kick on the backside (I mean that in the most Holy and inspiring way possible ;o). I took ahold of my dream after reading this. You can too!
The chapters include:
- Created for Purpose
- Created for Dreams
- Created for Risks
- Created for Gratitude
- Created for Worship
- Created for Work
- Created for Blessing
- Created for Relationships
- & more!
Let Debbie befriend you and take you for a stroll down a path of inspiration. This ones gets 2 THUMBS UP!

Hi Amy… you know, I used to go to Church with her. Debbie Macomber. She lives about 20 minutes from us in Port Orchard WA. She is a neat lady…
Sad but true confession… I have never read one of her books… gasp.. I know… I think I may just have to give it a go…
