I’m sure most of you are aware of my new venture with my friend, Amy S: Heart of the Matter Online. If you aren’t aware of it then you can go check it out now and I’ll just wait here till you get back. Go ahead. I’ll wait. Really.
Now. See? It’s a great site isn’t it?
My problem? (gee, thanks for getting right to it)
I have taken on way to much in a short amount of time. I have committed myself to things that are not bad but just distracting me from the purpose God has for me. Things like the Plate It and Post It meme and the In Pursuit of Proverbs 31 Blog Carnival have been gotten in the way and have to be put on the back burner for now because I know God wants me to focus on three things:
- Heart of the Matter Online
- Writing – here on my blog, for CWO (& Tuesdays, In “other” Words), and continuing to write the book that I started.
- Speaking – more to come on this one
God has really begun to birth this dream that I have and I don’t want to do anything to hinder that so I truly hope that you understand. Besides that, my husband and children will thank you since that will mean less time for me to be staring at this monitor.
I also really want to attend the She Speaks conference in June and that will cost us a pretty penny. So, I need to spend more time designing blogs. Hopefully, I will earn enough to attend the conference. If not then I will just mope around praise God anyway!
So thank you for understanding and please keep me and my ventures in prayer. And don’t forget… it’s OK to throw your hands up every once in a while. I believe God likes it. Funny that it is what we do when we want to give up and what we do when we want to praise God. hmm, surrender all and die to self? Can I get an “Amen”?

Ohhhhhh Amy . . .I love your last paragraph . . I never thought about that!
I’m sorry you feel distracted from God’s plan for you. If it helps, I really enjoy The Heart of the Matter!
Well I’m jealous! We don’t get the She Speaks here in Cali.
But Renee Swope is speaking at a church two hours from here and I just might be going!
This blog thing opens up incredible doors, but then we need to prioritize! We all understand! Do what God wants you to do, not what you feel obligated to do.
Amen! Surrender is where I need to be.
Do what God calls you to do and little else.
The less we spread ourselves thin, the deeper we can plow and the richer the crop!
I knew that you two girls were going to find that this beast was bigger than the both of you!
But it has been a blessing to so many.
Today I got this comment in my email box after I let others know about the Top 100:
“And I want to say that Heart of the Matter is so awesome. I have become rather aggravated lately with the state of homeschool blogging. And I won’t go into that, here. It’s on my blog, if you’re interested in finding out what that means. But…HOTM, is such a breath of fresh air. The love of Christ is
displayed and ideas, they are abundant.

So you can see… HOTM is touching hearts.
Amen!

I’ll keep you in my prayers. You are a fantastic writer and your words bless me so often. I know God has plans for you!
Amy,
I have never said “Been there and done that” with as much passion. It is the story of my life. A consistent battle for balance. I don’t want to get so focused on encouraging others that I leave my family in the cold. Keep praying. God has answer my pray for balance. I have to reevaluate weekly. He will direct your paths.
Love the 100 top homeschool Blog idea– what didn’t I think of that. Kudos.
If you ever need help with your book idea give me a call. I’ve read everything available on self publishing.
Remember to delegate–you don’t have to do it all.
There is a bit of a controversy on my blog if you have time to pop over.
Blessings,

It’s so easy to get so overwhelmed with it all and lose focus. I know I struggle with this, too.
First, I love your new blog look! Very cute! Also, you gotta do what you feel like God is calling you to do. Good for you for listening!
That last paragraph speaks of God wants us to always be – taking our hands away from things to give it all to Him and praise Him in ALL things and times.
Thanks for the reminder

There is no doubt that ALL the things you are doing are incredibly wonderful things. I think that as women we tend to get involved in many things – to the point of being overwhelmed – and sometimes it is necessary to step back and take a quiet break to let the Lord speak to our hearts so we can prioritize according to His purpose for our lives. Truly there is a season for everything and when we are in tune with Him there is much joy that comes alive in all that we do!
Praying for you before I hit the post button!
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
