Just Rambling… About Nothing At All

Well that title is nearly correct. You see, I just read a post over at Life Way’s All Access Blog called What Not To Wear that really got my brain stirring. It was all about modesty. Now you all know that I have issues with stores that have a provocative advertising campaigns and I let them know. However, what about modesty on a more personal level meaning yourself and your daughters? Some really great points were brought up by Sophie and by some of the ladies who left comments. I really enjoyed reading through all of them. Such an important issue for us ladies, today. Join the dialogue BooMama started and be sure to add your take on it.

Don’t you just love BooMama? I want to move next door to her just so I can go knock on her door and ask to borrow a cup of sugar for my sweet tea. Then maybe I could get a hug and she could tell me her stories in person. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?

Also, my friend Cindy has allowed us to read her book online and it’s free! Yes, ma’am it is. It is called Life After Porn: A Redemption Story. Now the funny thing is I’m sure her story started simply with a semi-dressed woman catching the eye of her man and then it progressed from there. This think is a demon that we must command to submit to Christ. We can’t let it rule our lives and our marriages. Be sure to go check out her book and leave her a word of encouragement.

Thanks! As a mom of 3 boys, my husband and I have the challenging task of raising them to respect women in today’s less-than-modest society.

Averting eyes, ‘taking every thought captive’, these sorts of things. They need to be able to see that these girls are real people, with real feelings, to be respected even when the way they dress and act doesn’t claim self-respect.

Just bought 2 books…one is Vicki Courney’s for me….(about raising boys…) and one is Steve Auterbach’s …preparing you son for Every Man’s Battle….Mine is 8 and I already see it….in subtle ways and he is homeschooled!!
We have to start now with these guys, they WILL eventually be someones wife and a little girls daddy….THAT just brought tears to my eyes….

They are just sooooo swamped they are…inundated really….

I hear you sister!
love you!

Very important subject! As the mom of teenage boys, I am often saddened by how girls are dressed around my guys.
