My Little Container Garden

I am so excited about my little garden. We didn’t have the opportunity this year to plant a garden outdoors but we did purchase a few pots, some organic soil, and some organic seeds and planted one indoors. I water them each morning and put them outside on our table for a few hours each day. The rest of the time they sit near our glass doors in the kitchen.

Mmmm… I love the smell of fresh herbs and even better than that… I love cooking with them!
Here is what we planted:
  • tomatoes
  • baby tomatoes
  • pak choi
  • squash
  • peppers
  • leeks
  • carrots
  • garlic
  • bell peppers
  • onion
  • lettuce
  • spinach
  • peas
  • cantaloupe
  • rosemary
  • chives
  • cilantro
  • basil
  • oregano
  • mint
  • dill
  • parsley
  • tarragon

It is all growing really well and I’m pleased so far. I’ve already used many of the herbs and cant’ wait to have some veggies. I’ll be even happier next year when we can expand and I can plant the lettuce and some other veggies at intervals so that it will last for a while.

What do you all do. Leave me a link to some of your gardening posts!

  1. Amy,
I have plenty of gardening stuff on my blog under gardening. Also, a friend of mine is doing “recycled Tire gardening”. That might be an option for you too. I think there is a book on it.

    See ya

Wow – you’ve planted all sorts of things! Where are you fitting everything? I can’t wait to see it all grow.

Tell me what you do with your fresh herbs. I have planted several this year (first time ever) but don’t really know how to use them. It sounds so silly but I’d love some advice.

Post on blog with some recipes!

  6. Cynthia says:

That’s MY kind of garden (LOL)! I’m guessing there is very little weeding necessary!

  7. Oh dear. I tried to grow cherry tomatoes in a pot last year. I think I got about 6 and called it a season!

My big focus is on my flower garden, but I grew up with a good-size veggie garden, so at the minimum, I have to grow at least some tomatoes and a few other things. And I even have blueberry bushes planted right along in my flower beds. :-)

On my blog, I have a whole “Gardening” category — click that and see all my fun gardening stuff!

  9. What do I do? I get my gardening fix by reading everyone else’s beautiful gardening posts and then saying to myself, once again, maybe next year.

Except this time I really mean it– next year!!!
