Yeah, so I can’t believe that I did this. I mean, I actually recorded myself on video and posted it. Me in all my – somewhat brushed hair that needs to be cut – glory. Thanks, Linda! I made up a new word too: visi—ting. That is the long version of the word. Yeah, and um, I rolled my eyes a lot too. … oh that insecurity issue! I’m not really insecure. At least I don’t think so. *shrugs shoulders* OH! That reminds me: please disregard the bad filming. I bought the camera that enhances the size of the forehead and nose. I don’t recommend it. Get one of those cameras that they use for music videos.
And Darlene… I did this just for you so that you can see now that my face does indeed match my voice – or something like that. Darlene is one of my most favorite people y’all so I just had to tease but I will add that she is only one of many who say my face doesn’t match my voice! And yes, Amy, I said “ya’ll” and I exposed my Cajun voice to the world. Now everyone knows. Okay, so just the 34 people who actually read my blog will know but still.
This is all new to me. I’m used to talking to you from behind my keyboard where I can (hide) backspace (hide) and delete (hide) at will but noooo, you can’t (hide) do that with video. Be easy on me. Don’t you just love how the video stills at the most embarrassing spot that it possibly could? Maybe I should get that second cup of coffee now… and chocolate.
Disclaimer: My grandma has informed me that because I have more of her family’s genes (according to her – no test has proven this) that I should not tell people I am Cajun. She said I am a Canuck and so my accent is different from typical Cajun. *shakes head* Whatever, grandma. I’m from Louisiana. Who knows what my genetic make-up is.
good grief…
and because I couldn’t write better material myself…
Please ignore the discoloration of the boys commode. I have used Comet, bleach, and every other cleaner known to man on it but remains the same. It needs to be replaced. It is as old as the house and my house is old! Hey, maybe we can use if for a science experiment! Any ideas?

Amy, I can’t explain this, and therefore maybe I should not admit this, but what the heck, I feel almost moved to tears over this because I LOVED meeting you, and I know I’m going to love meeting everyone else, and you are such a great person for being the first one to post! For the record, I think everything about you totally matches. And you definitely put the “ting” in visiting. Thanks, Amy!
Oh my gosh, that was so funny!!! What a hard worker bless his heart! I can’t wait to show that to my hubby!
Well, I don’t really “know” you but I think your voice totally matches your face. Love your accent too!
Very cute!
I am SO going to use your new word…visit-ing. That was awesome!
And yes…we do have similar taste…love the red!
Hello, I loved your introduction of yourself. You did great…so funny and charming too. The cleanup of the bathroom was hilarious! At least he did the toilet last!
Well I already know about your voice and your face, so there!
BUT, if Carsten has a fan club, I want to join!!!
I am so glad I found your blog! I can’t wait to see/read more!
What a KICK! I gotta agree–the voice took me by surprise too. I was expecting something a bit higher in tone, I guess. And your son…how hilarious!I’m ready to join the Carsten fan club too!
Thanks for a fun start to my day.
Thanks for kicking off the visiting, “live and with sound”. I’ll be back. It’s a pleasure to meet you. And what a spunky and creative little guy you have.
What fun! Thanks for letting us “meet” you.
How fun! Love the hair color…don’t change it!
-Sandy Toes
Oh Amy! That video of your son is priceless!!!! What a sweetheart!!!!
Thanks for sharing – it was nice to get to “meet” you. I love reading your blog, but now somehow it is different – in a better kind of way!
Blessings!
Amy,after watching your video, I am already used to your hair color and I love it. Please don’t ever, EVER change it. It matches your voice AND you face. Kinda ties the whole package together.
(You know I am just messing with you, right?)
He is hysterical! I could sit and watch him clean the bathroom all day long…simply adorable.
Lovely to meet you! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Great video. Thanks for letting us “meet” you. And your son is absolutely adorable!
I totally loved that….maybe that’s what I need to do with my boys!!! And for the record…your face, voice and accent go together!!
Sorry, I did dress-up! But I only did it cuz I had to “look good” every morning this week. I promise if we do this again I will do it bed-head. And my bed-head is terrible cuz I have short hair and it sticks up all over!
It was nice to meet you!
AWESOME! You go girl! I'd never have the courage to do that!!!!
I LOVED the video of Carsten cleaning! I forwarded the HOTM link to alot of people (hubby included) & said maybe we need to start drilling!!!!
Great job, Amy! Also loved the one with your son! By the way, you have a very nice voice AND face.
Amy, isn’t this great what Linday has created for us. I unfortunately do no have a webcam, so I had to create a slide show. You were really funny and don’t you go worrying about saying ‘Ya’ll’, it is an honor to be a Southern Chick.
Edwina
that is one hard working kid!!! can i borrow him. he’s got your wit and humor too. loved stopping by here. great videos and nice to meet you!
I can’t believe how much fun this is! I might have to host one on my own blog sometime! You are adorable and so is your son. Very nice to meet you here!
Amy it was nice meeting you online. I enjoyed your little video, however, not as much as I enjoyed your sons. He is an absolute cutie and such a hard worker. I will have to show this to my girls and see if it won’t motivate them a little.
Oh my goodness! He is such a sweetheart! I love it when kids make their own video. You get to see a side of them that you don’t always see. Please hug him for me.
I also did not think that is what you would sound like. Too funny! So I totally understand Darlene’s comment.
Thank you for doing this. I know it isn’t always fun to see yourself on video but it so great for the rest of blogworld to be able to get to know you better.
Smiles!
I loved the video of your son! How cute. Your video was nice, too!
I’m so glad I watched your son’s video all the way through. “This is for you, Mom!” That was so funny!
This is the 3rd video I’ve watched, and I am thoroughly enjoying them. It’s fun to see bloggers LIVE. You cracked me up!
You have a lovely accent and pretty eyes! This is my first visit- I couldn’t get my video to load, but wanted to come watch anyways. I love your son’s sense of humour- he cracked me up!
What’s this about you not matching your voice? Rest assured, it does. And I love your son’s can-do attitude cleaning the bathroom and esp. the toilet. What a ham he is!
Oh, poo, poo. I don’t have a video camera to take part in this. What a cool idea!
Carsten- he is adorable! I think he could teach my son a thing or two. Is he for hire?
Thanks for letting us peek into your world.
Love ya girl,
Jen
I think your voice matches your face perfectly! Loved your video post and the one of your precious son as well. Too cute!
What fun! I love the y’all and your son is so cute doing that for you! Connie
Great to meet you, Amy! Love your hair color.
I love your son’s video, too. That was too cute! One of my son’s chore in the mornings is to clean the bathroom sink, too, and then dd does the toilet.
Have a blessed day!
Too cute, Amy! I enjoyed watching your antics, but I didn’t have any preconceived ideas about your voice, so I can’t picture anything else now!
And your son…whoa! That was one cleanin’ dude!
What fun!
I understood the yall very well. I am sure if you visit my blog you will identify with the shotgun blasts in the background. I love living in the deep south.
Oh yeah, “yall”, this is quite entertaining. Enjoyed watching your video! And who said your voice has to match your face.. does anyone’s voice match their face????
Cajun country? How could we not have found each other before now? And what accent? That is not even close to the Cajun accents where I live.
Where are you from? It’s so nice to meet you.
Both of you are a complete HOOT!
So nice to meet you!
Totally loved this!!!
Girl, you are The Voice of the Conference so I totally knew what you sounded like– although you have much less of an accent on this clip than you did at the Conference!
LOVED IT! You are brave. I am chicken.
So, you’re the first blog I’m reading, besides Linda’s and I’m already laughing. That is hilarious about your face/voice. I think everything fits fine!
And your son is awesome. So funny that he did that video! I’m going to follow you, if you’re cool with that.
I didn’t do a video blog, but now wish I had.
Great job! Nice to “meet” you!
Hello Amy! I stopped over to say “hello”. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and can I say your little boy just stole my heart. That is about the cutest thing I have ever seen (aside from my own boys, of course!)
Very funny!
AMY! I loved that! BOTH of them! Send Carsten over to my house please!!! WHAT a dude! A blessing if ever there was one!
And you obviously didn’t catch my clip a month back…when I was introducing the “Sisters of Faith” Bible Study…talk about a corn-dog-country voice…but I had a fun time making it…and I have laughed at myself and thought “girl (meaning me) YOU need some major voice training…so you don’t sound so country!”—But how else would I sound???? I mean…I AM country…and am FROM the country….
I will do another for Linda’s meme. This is GREAT!
Tell Carsten…if he ever needs a job…come on down to NW Florida!
Hey Amy! You are beautiful and your voice totally matches your face!
I wish I had known about this video meme; I would’ve jumped right in, so hopefully this won’t be the last!
Wow Amy, that was just great! I’m so glad I scrolled down to have another look at your LSU post (see Facebook) as I’ve now been able to see and hear you. What a buzz. One day I will/might be brave and do the same thing! And Carsten is such a good fella doing his chores. So adorable! Paula
LOL. You’re braver than me! Hmmm…. a video of me. I’ll have to think about that.
First of all, I LOVE your sons video of proof that he did his chores. That is hilarious. Secondly, you are hilarious and its kinda cool to see/hear the people behind the blog. Your right it gives you a better perspective of the person. You’ve got a great sense of humor and I will definitely be back.
What fun! I had to listen to the very first video post! (I’m slow…it’s been a busy week.) Nice to meet you. And you match very nicely, thank you!!!
Love the little boy working!!! Have you tried Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get things white. I am NOT a good housekeeper…My kids thought I had lost my mind when I began touting Mr. Clean Magic Eraser — but it really does work wonders!!
Amy, this was just priceless.
What a great idea. Now, I’m not that bold, not just yet!! Still getting my feet wet here in blogland.
And the video of your son, CAN I ADOPT HIM???? He is just adorable. I love him already.
Can’t wait to meet them all soon.
Blessings!!!
Those were great videos!!
As for saying “y’all” I don’t see anything wrong with it. I actually was surprised at how easy to understand your accent is. My hubby’s father (late) and stepmother live outside New Orleans and their accents were/are much stronger than yours.
Thanks for sharing.
