Earn Some Extra Cash For the Holidays

With the holidays slowly sneaking up on us and the economy slowing down, it is easy to become concerned with finances. I have one idea… Create a blog shop on your blog and sell handmade items, digitally designed items, or great condition second hand items without having to pay the fees associated with other websites.

I have books, curriculum, bandanna (pillowcase) dresses, scrapbook items and lots of other stuff that can be sold. I don’t have to worry about fees and the comments from satisfied buyers can serve as feedback or rating or you can always refer buyers to your eBay, Amazon, or etsy account for feedback references.

Setting up a shop is easy.

  1. Create a post or page specifically for your blog store. List all items (pictures preferred) with the condition (new, great condition, slightly used, etc.) of the item as well as the price.
  2. Advertise your shop on your blog sidebar. I created some buttons for this purpose. Check them out here: Blog Shop Buttons. Be sure to link the button to the blog shop post’s URL.
  3. Conduct business orderly and in a professional manner. You want to be sure to deliver a quality product and quality service.
  4. Leave the link here and let others know that you opened your shop and then we can all browse!

How simple is that?

Do you have any ideas to add. How can we promote it and spruce it up a bit?
