Our Poor, Poor, Broken Car

So yesterday on our way to couple’s bible study where we were going to watch the Superbowl (another post for another day), we got into a wreck. Apparently, a lady was on the phone (ahem) on did not notice that the light was red and it wasn’t like it just turned red either. Two cars had already gone before us when she plowed into our front end. I’m so thankful that my husband is a quick thinker and a good driver. Instead of going ahead and trying to beat her, he stopped. Because he did that she only hit the front end and not the side of the car. We did a near complete spin and after I checked on Carsten all I could think about was my two boys who were with my sister in the car behind me. They were fine though. She had seen the lady and knew she wasn’t stopping so she didn’t dare move.

Once we began pulling over to the side I could hear something dragging under the car. There are a few things hanging under there. It is also going to start smelling pretty rank inside the car over the next couple of days. I had a whole crock pot full of Rotel Dip on the floor between my feet. Can I tell you that it flew everywhere? All up under the dashboard, in the carpet and on the seat. we could not get it all out. Oh well. We are all safe. God is so good!

Now we have to be without a car for a couple weeks…

  3. Nikowa Lee says:

Oh thank God you are okay!!! That’s so scary!

I don’t like drivers on cells either!!!

  4. queenie says:

Glad you are ok, but if you aren’t being charged with fault in the accident – the lady’s insurance should provide a rental car at no cost to you while your car is being fixed. Trust me, I know – people have loved to hit me. I even had my parked car hit by a drunk driver in the middle of the night once while I slept. Anywho – get that rental car you are owed, so you aren’t carless!

    Take care!

  5. Thanking God that you all are OK! The car can be fixed!

Awww…I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. I’ve been in a really bad accident with my kiddos too (when they were just toddlers) and it was pretty scary!

I’m so thankful that God protected you and your family, just as He did mine! He is truly incredibly good to us!

And thank you so much for your kind comment!

    Bless you sister,
    Sunny
