I read about the movie on pluggedin and it was a definate "NO!" My almost 13 year old son so badly wants to see it. He saw that the sexual content went on and on in the write up. He knew, it SHOULD be a no!

Keep up the good work!

WE have to protect our children!

Well said Amy! I thoroughly enjoyed the first Transformers movie and have allowed my daughter to watch it. However, I went to see Transformers 2 the other week and share the same opinion as you. Why ruin something that is meant for kids by giving it too much adult content? I will definitely not be letting my daughter see this one. I have young nephews who adore Transformers, and also another friend with three young boys, and I know that these young chaps will miss out because Hollywood decided to "adult" the movie up to make money.

Don't you HATE that?! We haven't seen it... we don't have cable and hardly go to movies much at all anymore. We even screen rentals now, too. It's so sad that you MUST do it... but our kids are worth it!!

I've really started trying to pick up Christian indie films. Our autistic son loves movies and movie making. He even makes his own short animated still movies. He has the patience. Not me..LOL. But, because of his love, I figured I better pay attention and get him involved with the indie side of film-making, and I've been pleasantly surprised with the Christian filmmakers out there. Definitely worth looking in to if you want something new and clean to watch!

Hope you have a truly blessed week!!
Sallie

Girl---I am so jumping up and down with you!!! This is intolerable...I find it so very hard to purchase toys for my grandsons at birthdays and Christmas when all they want is what they see on TV!!!

I try to 'convince' them that they really really really don't want that toy/contraption because it WILL tear up.

Do I sound like a bad Nana???

I buy books. And puzzles. LOTS of crayons...and the occasional paint set. BUT the biggest hit was a fishing pole and tackle box. ALL the boys wanted one then.

Anyway....I with you girl. You go get'em!

Amy~~ I have not seen it, but I have heard a little bit about it. From what I heard there were a lot of offensive parts, that really could of been left out. I don't know why movie makers think we want to see that garbage and expose our children to it. My son is a film student at a Christian University and I praise God for raising up a generation that will serve Him.
As for the whole Hollywood thing, I totally agree. They get paid way too much, complain way to much, and are heralded as icons or even idols. Yet, they appear to be some of the saddest, lonliest, and selfish people around. Any way...I'll save my rant for another time. LOL
www.ruralmomma6.blogspot.com

Amy I respect you so much for so openly voicing your opinion! I agree. My husband and I left that movie and all I could think of was how I was going to need to tell my brother-in-law not to take his wife to see it because she would get seriously angry at him for doing so. (She gets uber offended and for some reason blames him for taking her in the first place.)

Well said, Amy! We go to VERY few movies and rent only a few more, for exactly these reasons.

Kudos, Amy!

I'm thankful my daughters think like you as well and are protecting my grandchildren (birth to 9 years) from such trash.

More people need to get involved and boycott these toy companies and the movie makers as well. Money seems to be the only thing that speaks to them.
