I have been pondering the questions that have plagued the hearts and minds of so many:
- Why can’t I get it right?
- How can I find more time to get it all done?
- Why isn’t God helping me?
Women have been the target of some outrageous media propaganda that sets our flesh racing in the wrong direction and so we turn to the church where we receive conflicting views on biblical truths. No wonder we are so befuddled when it comes to our roles as Christ-following women. Even within Christianity there are views that encompass from one end of the spectrum to the other. So what’s a girl to do?
There are many women who are fascinated with and at the same time terrified of the woman in Proverbs 31. I was one of those women.
As I read and meditated on the scriptures then tried to apply them to my life something odd happened. I became filled with anger, bitterness, anxiety, and was more overwhelmed than I had ever been before. When I heard other women speak about all the Proverbs 31 guidelines they had achieved I would feel myself cringe inside. Why was I different? Why couldn’t I just “get it?”
Have you ever felt this way?
If you have then I pray that this bible study will be a source of encouragement to you and strengthen your walk with God. It may not always be easy because we will have to retrain our patterns of thought and overcome some mindsets we may have formed. You may even have to unlearn some things you have been taught in the past. This bible study is not “typical” of what you will find in the majority of books, articles, and posts written on the scriptures in Proverbs 31. Instead, it is a look into the heart of God and the reality of those scriptures in the bible.
I ask that you stop now and pray:
Father, there is none like you. Your name is above every other name and to you every knee will bow. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a woman in this time and in this place. Thank you for being the perfect example of how to serve my family and friends. I desire to do your will for my life. Help me to see things the way you see them and please cleanse and soften my heart to receive teachings from your word. I repent for any wrong and destructive thought patterns I may have and I ask that you transform my mind to accomplish your desire for my life. Forgive me for any negative emotions that I may have entertained. Give me the revelation that I need each and every day to become more like you and less like my worldly self. Please keep me from the plans of Satan and deliver me from those who wish me harm. Amen.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 kjv
God speaks to each and every one of us on a daily basis. We must learn to hear him and obey. Much the same way a mother teaches her children because she knows better, God teaches us because he knows all things and His will is for us to prosper and be in good health and no, I am not referring to money. I would much rather prosper in my day to day life. I can make money at anytime but I can’t buy the lessons that my Father teaches me.
scripture references: Hebrews 12:25, Matthew 4:4, Deuteronomy 30:10, Acts 5:29, 3 John 1:2

Hi, my name is Regina and I’m going to teach a 6 week course on the Proverbs 31 Woman. I may have married women as well as single women in my class. I have been trying to find some material as a guideline, and I came upon your site. Where do I get the Bible Study and is the video available also?
Thank you!
Regina
Hi, My name is Rachelle and I’m starting a mom’s group based on Proverbs 31. We are going to be studying/discussing in depth subjects dealing with marriage, parenting, and frugality and I saw your Bible study and thought it would be a great kick-off to this group but could not find where I could get it. Is it possible to see the notes for it somewhere?
thank you!
Rachelle

I will definitely be checking this site out every now and then.
Hi Amy, I just came across your blog and can't wait to join the Proverbs 31 study. Look forward to learning much along the way.

One more thing – is there a schedule of dates/times on the sessions yet, or will that be determined each month? – I wanted to include it in my blog post, but couldn't find it.
I watched the webinar today and really enjoyed it – great in-depth teaching.
Here is my blog post:

Hey I just saw this. I'm going to do this. I'll read over it tonight or rather this evening after we finish schooling.
I'm starting to love your blog more and more.
Hey, I was wondering (this isn't about the study anymore) if you can show us how to make bread using a video? I know youre pregnant and may not want to do it before the delivery, but can you give it some thought. I really liked (my husband did too) what you shared about your grocery bill. I've been wanting to make homemade bread for years, but I need help. I, too, well, I use to have a weekly menu like you shared, but I haven't done that in a while.
Your blog is helping me bring my heart back home Amy it really is.
I started having issues (talked to the Lord about this a lot) w/my calling; although, I love it. I didn't know what was wrong. I feel it changing back little by little, but after I saw your menu and just the other little things I've been reading here it's really pulling me back in the right direction, and when I saw the homemade bread part, I just threw up both my hands and said, "I surrender!"
Thanks a bunch!
Amy,
I'm looking forward to the rest of the study! I'm kind of glad I'm only doing audio with A Woman Inspired on the Bible study but at the same time, I think the video helps so much as far as how you come across to others because they can see your expressions and actions and so forth. Maybe I should consider video too??? Can you do video with A Woman Inspired?
You did a fabulous job – distractions and all!
Sounds like it will be an awesome study! I'm hoping to listen it today!
Amy – what a GREAT study. This is so relevant and personally on my heart. Thanks for all you do – the Ruth study has been great and I look forward to this one, too!!!
I got linked here from Christin at Journey of Devotion. I can’t wait to go through this study and I’d LOVE to participate in the blog carnival in December.
Looking forward to getting to know you better!

Amy,
I am so glad to find this study. Just doing the introduction post on my blog has been a blessing. Anything that gets me to thinking, and searching as to why I am not where God aspires me to be is a great blessing to me. Sometimes it takes me a while to see that though.
Blessings Always
Raye Ann
I just added the button. I know I am quite behind but I am exited to go through the study. I noticed the last two did not have links. Are these not available or have they not been done yet?

Amy,
I am so excited to start this Bible study. With a 6 week old it is hard to get out of the house for one. Praying God gives fresh words to all who are doing this so we can glean from one another.
I am new to your blog, but would really like to join your Bible Study to learn how to be the woman God wants me to be. Thanks so much!
I’ll do my best to keep up; I’m in a community Bible study that I struggle to complete each week, but I’ve had a special interest in the Proverbs 31 woman for a long time myself. (Here’s a post I did on that a few weeks ago

Thanks for pouring yoruself out and allowing all of us blog stalkers to catch in on the action!! God Bless!
Jill
Dearest Amy,
WOW!!! How awesome is our God! I’m overjoyed with the skills, motivation and perseverance our Lord has given (b/c I get to benefit from it!
I’m also amazed that God has given you the same passion about the Proverbs 31 woman! I’ve just started a “live” online Bible Study on “A Wife’s Biblical Submission” based on Proverbs 31! How cool is that!?
I’d love for you to stop by and read some of my posts and tell me what you think. Also, any words of wisdom for my readers would be an added blessing!
So great to know you…online!
Bless you dear sister!
Sunny
I would so be into this too, Amy! How’s it coming?
Amy ~ I am looking forward to this Bible Study!
