For me it was because my relationship with my mother was such a let down in in my early childhood. I didn’t know that then but looking back it is obvious that I just viewed all women the same as I saw my mom. Friendship for Grown Ups helped me to work through more of the issues I didn’t realize I had.
Lisa is very transparent in this book. She lays it all out there. She takes the reader on a journey and towards the end you do feel as though you have a new friend in her.

ooohh….what a needful book!!
I subscribed via e-mail about a month ago. I am blessed by so many of the topics you share. This one is a BIGGIE with me. I TOO, had a very difficult relationship with my Mom…..all throughout my life. She passed away 2 years ago and I’m just now realizing how this crucial dynamic between mother and daughter has affected me and the ability to “trust” other women.
By God’s grace alone, the ties to this emotionally destructive relationship has been broken to a large extent and I’m able to give the love I never knew to my own daughters. Praise Him!! Would love to read what Lisa writes about this subject. God is SO GOOD!
