In case you didn’t know it, I am going to the Relevant 10 Conference in October. One of the sponsors of the conference is DownEast Basics. They are holding a fashion show at the conference and in order to choose their models they are having a contest – 5 Bloggers to be Models – 5 FREE Outfits!
pick.me.please.
Why? Because I just gave birth to one of these:
He only speaks through gibberish and drool but I clearly heard him say, “My mommy should win!” He should say that. These new baby friendly curves I have are compliments of him. Ain’t he cute though?
My other dilemma is that the only clothes I currently have make me look like this all over again:
That may very well be because they are maternity clothes (the pic is from when I was pregnant) but hey, until I lose the baby weight I am trying to avoid spending money. Besides, I have lots of perfectly good clothes in my closet. They, um, just don’t fit yet.
I have thought about going shopping to buy something for the conference but I am not a very good shopper. The whole process wears me out. I prefer to buy my clothes online. Here is a prime example of why:
Now, I’m pretty sure I can rock a runway. After all I was in a few pageants back in the day and my nanny taught me to twirl and pose. Don’t judge me. I’m from the south. It is what our parents do to us.
Now should I be chosen for this delightfully glamorous contest, I would wear the following:
That is the Cosmo Scarf, the Deep Thoughts Top, the Perfect Picture Skirt, and the Weekend Tote which would be appropriate for carrying around my flat friends.
The bottom line is this: If I am not chosen then it is very likely that I will have to go through this again: My Dilemma. Then it would be your fault.
I’m just sayin…
If you think they should choose me then please leave a comment. You know I will post embarrassing pictures of myself because I obviously enjoy torture as long as it entertains you.

I absolutely think they should pick you!!!!!!!!! Pick Amy, pick Amy!!!!!!! She will rock the runway like none other…pick Amy, pick Amy!!!!!!
I do hope you get picked! You deserve it!!
I hope you win!!! That in-between stage is sooo hard. Why is it that we are so happy when our belly gets bigger and we’re stretching out of our regular clothes and into maternity. And yet when we are that exact SAME size after giving birth, it has lost all the joy and okay-ness about it?
How fun! I hope you’re able to participate!
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Joseph Wood
Would love to walk the runway with you! Hoping we both get picked!
Amy, you are beautiful inside and out! I definitely think they should choose you. What can they be thinking if they don’t? Im sure this will be a first for them. A mother who campaigns for a modeling job post pregnancy. I LOVE IT! You have the best sense of humor and can I just say …you’d fit in with my family so well.
A mother knows what her baby is thinking so if they don’t take it from you, I’m sure they will take the advice of a baby.
You go girl!
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Oh yes, they should pick you! I would not want you to have to go through that again. Shopping can be utter torture!!
I hate shopping for myself too. I’ve recently had to buy some new clothes because after 6 or so years, the clothes start talking for themselves. One place that I’ve love is JCPenny’s. I hit their clearance rack and always find good things. I recently needed a dressy top to wear to a wedding and found a top there Reg $42 for $10. That’s a steal! Good luck!
You are BEAUTIFUL – and are SO deserving of being a model – what with your experience and all!
Pick AMY!!!!
