31 Days of Online Ministry – HEART MATTERS edition

I have thoroughly enjoyed my break from being online. It really gave me time to pray, think, and just listen for God’s will in my life and my online presence. I’ve learned so much in this short time. I hope to share it all with you.

Myself and several other bloggers have declared this year, 2011, a year for Him and for His purposes. You will find a list of participants at the bottom of this post. Visit all of them for some great encouragement and motivation to get you started with this new year.

Today, on day one, I want to start by encouraging you to seek Him and pray. Whether you blog for profit, enjoyment, hobby, therapy, or ministry it should all be done unto Him. That is what I will focus on over the next 31 days. In the midst of tutorials about feed readers, stat counters, and social networking we will chat about His will and His purpose in all of it. We’ll also dig into time management, purpose, and developing relationships. All of this will come from the point of view of utilizing the tools while having a pure heart before Him.

If there is one solid lesson that I have learned recently it is that life is short but what we do here affects eternity for ourselves and others. I want to be confident that I can stand before Him with clean hands and a pure heart. We can do this. Let’s learn together. Our heavenly Father is so worthy of this pure form of worship. Won’t you join me?

Let’s begin by taking today and submitting ourselves and our ideas to Him in prayer. Ask Him what He would have you do with your influence online. Search His word. Listen for His voice. Fast if you feel the need. Start by declaring that you too will give this year, 2011, to Him and to His purposes.

Father, you are so precious to us. Your name is Holy and your ways are righteous. We humble ourselves before you, thankful for all that you have done for us. We pray that you would guide us and speak to us about your will for our online presence and our range of influence. We pray that you would give us what we need to accomplish the task you have prepared for us to do. We ask for your forgiveness if we have missed the mark in the past and we vow to try harder this year to fulfill the call you have placed on our lives. We pray for your protection over our online ministry and we ask that you would guide our steps. In Jesus’ sweet name we pray.

I had felt the same “nudge” for 2011. Resting in God, drinking Him in and knowing who I am in Him. Glad to hear that you are feeling the same thing. Go God Go!
