Join Me for a Live Talk About Nutrition and Kids Lunches- I love Chocolate Milk!

I’ve written several times about my family’s journey from using mostly processed and antibiotic/pesticide/hormone tainted foods to using more real foods. I’ve also clarified over and over that it is about a healthy balance and what is best for your family. People ask me all the time what my stance is about food. The bottom line is that I would love to serve only “real” foods to my family but my current budget won’t allow it so I prioritize. I buy organic dairy, meat and produce (local if possible) most of the time but we do still eat some processed foods. I also stay away from high fructose corn syrup as much as possible. It is not a necessary ingredient and it is only used so that it will preserve whatever product it is in so it has a longer shelf life. The company has more money in their pocket and we get another very unmoderate dose of HFCS.

That is why I when I was contacted about partnering with The Motherhood and Tru Moo Chocolate Milk I jumped at the chance. I am more than happy to promote a company who considers their customers dietary needs and not just their monetary wants.

And… it tastes good. So good in fact that the bottles they sent me to try disappeared before I could take cute little photos of snacks and lunches to add to this post. My husband loved it. I loved it. One of my kids obviously loved it a little too much because they drank what was left. No will will admit to it though. They just asked when I was buying more. My answer? Soon. I’m proud to be one of the #TruMooMoms!

Tru Moo is made with fresh white milk from your trusted regional dairy, pure cocoa and table sugar – no high fructose corn syrup. With lower calories and less sugar, TruMoo offers a great taste kids love with the nutrition moms can feel good about serving.

And you can join us to learn about more nutritious lunches for your kiddos. That’s right, just in time for the back-to-school season, join us to discuss the importance of tasty and healthy school lunches that include nutrient-rich milk. The discussion will be led via live video feed by Andrea Carrothers, MS, RD and Nutrition Communications Manager at Dean Foods. Andrea can help with tips on how to encourage healthier eating at home and at school and demystify the chocolate-milk-in-schools debate playing out on TV and in school meetings from coast to coast. Come to ask and answer questions, tell us which health-conscious foods your kids love and exchange ideas for school lunches, after-school snacks or breakfast before you and the kids hit the door!

Join us at The Motherhood on August 31st at 1pm EST. You get lots of great information, great ideas, tips and it’s just fun to hang out with all of us moms for a chat. So join us, will ya?
