con·tent – A state of satisfaction.
thank·ful – State of being pleased and relieved.
I used to struggle with being content with my home. I felt that if I was satisfied with it then I would become complacent. Yet, I felt guilty for simply being content. Then I realized happiness comes from more than being content. I need to be thankful for what I have.
Going from content to thankful really is the key for me. It is the difference between eating a full meal and simply being fed or eating a meal and being satisfied and thankful that you received it. The difference is in your perspective. One says this is all I need and I’m okay with that and the other says this is all I need and I am thankful for it.
Do you think it makes a difference? Can you find things about your home to be thankful for?

I believe that thankfulness makes contentment easy. Whereas, contintment without thankfulness is a chore.
I am thankful {now} for the house my husband built for me. One room at a time, I am making it “our home”.
Your title intrigued me, and even after reading through the post twice I still think I would have to answer I am both content and thankful for my home. I am thankful for the safety, location, the new life it provided me. But I am also content because this is the space that when I enter I can feel my self relax, it defines who I am at this time by how I have infused myself into the room.
