Cajun Joie de Vivre
I'm Amy Bayliss. I'm Cajun: born and raised just south of Baton Rouge, LA. I'm passionate about family, heritage, home, and my Lord, Jesus Christ. I've been called a pioneer in women's online ministry and an architect of ideas: I like that. It glorifies my Father. Here I share those ideas and the thoughts and creativity inspired by my walk with Him.

While my family doesn’t celebrate Halloween we do participate in some of the familiar Fall traditions that surround it: pumpkin carving, Fall decorating, and my boys’ favorite, pranks! This year, during our pumpkin carving festivities, we made a big deal of it by inviting some friends over and having a buffet of goodies to eat. [...]

I married a northern boy whose family is from Iowa. They don’t eat grits. It’s sad really. He was so deprived. *laughs* My family on the other hand loves grits. Especially Cajun shrimp and grits. I’m still trying to get that hunk of a man of mine to eat them. He has no idea what [...]

We are now an official football family. Not just the kind that watches the Saints and LSU tigers every time they grace the field but the kind who bring kids to practice, cheer real loud even when they mess up, and put up with smelly uniforms. I knew that with four boys eventually it would [...]

I’ve been sharing about the journey that led us to the spiritual cleansing of our home. If you missed those posts you can find them all listed here: Spiritually Clean Home. In this post I’ll share about the experiences we had while “unoccupying” our home. Ryan and I knew we wanted our home to be [...]

In my Unoccupied, Swept Clean, and Put In Order post yesterday I talked about Matthew 12:44 being the foundation for our home’s cleanliness. Today I’ll attempt to break a bit of it down for you. Let’s read the whole section that this scripture comes from: The Sign of Jonah 38 Then some of the Pharisees and [...]
There are some things I think about daily, like laundry and if the diapers are washed — and dry. There are some books that never get dusty and are habitually left out, because I am nothing without knowing what my Jesus has to say to me in the morning. There are some people I pray [...]

I would live to win Unpluged book as I’m staring a Ladies group in our church in February & I think it will be an awesome read for me !
Hi Amy! I would love to win this gift package to share with a friend! Thanks!
I would like to win the Unglued book. I have heard a lot of great things about it and I think I need to read it.
I would love to win b/c I bought the Unglued book and before I made it through chapter 2 I gave it away to my good friend who has 7 boys. Yes, 7. I know she needs it more than me, but I was really gaining a lot of insight and encouragement from the book. I can wait until she finishes even though I’m not sure how long that will take! I do want you to know that I never hang onto any kind of books or devotionals. I circulate them when led by the Holy Spirit. I hope I win!!
